Straight Magnums arrange the needles in two staggered rows with a straight edge, allowing the artist to cover more surface area than a round grouping while maintaining control over shading, blending, and color application.

Every cartridge features our signature Por Vida LA red housing along with our color-coded membrane system, helping artists quickly distinguish Straight Magnums from Round Liners, Round Shaders, and Curved Magnums during setup.

#10 Gauge — 0.30 mm

All Por Vida LA Straight Magnums use a #10 needle gauge, equivalent to a 0.30 mm individual needle diameter.

We selected 0.30 mm because it provides a versatile balance between control, ink delivery, and smooth coverage.

The 0.30 mm diameter works especially well for Straight Magnums because it provides:

Unlike our Round Liners and Round Shaders, Por Vida LA Straight Magnums are available with two taper options:

Medium Taper — 3.5 mm
Long Taper — 5.5 mm

3.5 mm Medium Taper

Our 3.5 mm Medium Taper is a great option for artists who prioritize stronger pigment delivery and efficient saturation.
